As war with the Saxons rages far to the North and brigands raid only the outermost settlements, life as a knight aspirant for Earl Roderick of Salisbury’s personal bodyguard has been but honey and wine. A few bruises from sparring, a painful fall from the saddle and a pounding head from too much mead are the worst you have suffered.
