In Darkest Night

Girl by Moonlight is about a group of magical girls, but not really. It’s about queer folks, who struggle against the suffocating darkness of the world, made manifest in day to day oppression, as well as monstrous embodiments of that same darkness.

We’ll be playing using the “In Darkest Night” series playbook, which explores the darker and self-aware post-modern branch of the genre, deconstructing it in the process. Think less Sailor Moon and more Puella Magi Madoka Magica. In this version of the game characters are destined to fail and be defeated by a Tragic Fate they cannot and will not escape. But even in the deepest Darknest, they may yet find some Light. If they are willing to fight for it.

Girl By Moonlight is a BitD hack by Andrew Gillis that is being playtested right now. As such, be aware that it’ll likely have some rough edges.
