1931, Four old pals receive a letter from a lost friend, not seem or heard from in a decade, asking them to come to visit him in a Belgium hotel. The tone of the letter is pleading, evoking the shared experiences and loyalties of these survivors of the Great War. Their pal saved their lives once so they owe him. But the tone of the letter sounds wrong, fearful, most unlike their old friend. The pals head for Belgium, driven by the bonds of friendship.
