The Mouth Of Wakalche aka The Peril of McCourt’s Passage

For years the details of Colonel Edwin McCourt’s last African expedition have been shrouded in secrecy. Many of those involved vanished without a trace, and McCourt himself was found horrifically burned and muttering delirious warnings about “The Mouth… The Mouth Of Wakalche”. But now the dying testament of Reginald Aulde, last survivor of the McCourt expedition, has provided startling new evidence. It seems that Colonel McCourt discovered a remote passage into the heart of one of South Africa’s most impressive mountain ranges. What he discovered there, and what it was that claimed the lives of most of his expedition, remains unclear.

Now noted explorer and gentleman adventurer Sir Digby Spode is to lead a fresh expedition to South Africa. He and his companions must scale the basalt peaks of the Drakensberg Mountains and locate the last known site mapped by the fateful expedition. From there they hope to locate
McCourt’s passage and discover the secrets that lie within. To journey into the very heart of darkness itself and discover for themselves the truth that lies within.

Stiff Upper Lip is my own variant of the popular FATE system made famous by Spirit Of The Century]. Stiff Upper Lip takes FATE and gets it to stand up straight, stop slouching and generally become a game system of which Nanny would be proud. It adapts FATE for the genre of British Empire fiction, made famous by writers such as W.E. Johns, Rider Haggard and Sax Rohmer. A golden age in which bold heroes and plucky heroines confront dastardly foreigners, discover lost worlds and ancient treasures, and thwart devilish schemes for world domination.

What do you think about that?
