This Bountiful Land

The Saxons are beaten back and contained, the Picts stay beyond the wall and even those in the mountains of the west seem more content fighting among themselves than invading Arthur’s realm. It is a time of relative peace and prosperity. Yet, some lords are becoming lax. Monies owed to the King remain unpaid. Bandits run free as mercenaries who once warred, now find themselves unemployed. Even the fae seem more active and mischievous. Earl Sarum of Salisbury however is a good and noble vassal of Arthur and so has sent a troop of his younger knights to tour his lands, make sure the King’s road is clear and that those who owe fealty to the crown are not neglecting their duties. That these are some of his more troublesome knights should not be taken to mean the Earl simply wishes a quieter life for a few months…

What do you think about that?
